    Fall Real Estate Market Update

This fall is going to be an incredible time to buy or sell based on market trends in the North Shore of Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. Aside from the fact that Essex County and the Merrimack River Valley are extremely desirable places to live, there are other factors, like a strong job market, that are factoring into this exciting season.

Stone Ridge Properties Co-Owner Cathy Toomey comments, “whether you are a first time buyer or a seasoned real estate pro, you have to admit these interest rates allow for much greater purchasing power.”258 High Street Newburyport MA

Earlier this year The Boston Globe predicted that this Fall would be a great time to buy or sell: “Interest rates are still low; mortgage guidelines are loosening; inventory is on the low side, keeping the supply under control and demand high; the economy in Greater Boston is booming; home equity is rising; and pride of homeownership is definitely back.” Inventory is still low which is great for sellers hoping to get an offer on their home quickly, and buyers can be optimistic about mortgage approval as mortgages are getting easier to obtain.

With low inventory and eager buyers, be sure to connect with a Stone Ridge agent soon to make the most of this busy season. We are ready to get working for you! Visit our website to find an agent and set up an account to receive daily real estate updates.

Benefits of Listing your Home in the Summer Months

Many people consider spring the best time to list your home - but the busy selling season in real estate extends throughout the summer months. If you have been considering listing, this is a fantastic time to do so. Here are a few reasons why summer is the time to sell!

    summer flowers

More eyes on your home: People love visiting the Greater Newburyport area and Southern NH during the summer months to marvel at the coastline and visit local farms. If your home is on the market, you can expect increased “drive-bys” by eager homebuyers or by people who may suggest your property to family and friends. Make sure the exterior of your home looks fantastic.

Longer Days: People are busy, and the long daylight hours of summer can certainly benefit buyers and sellers when the after-work showings have the advantage of natural light.

Great first impressions: Use the summer months to your benefit by creating a beautiful natural landscape. Have your garden looking its best and your entry ways tidy and neat. Make sure your shrubs and lawn are well-cared for during the showing process.

Wonderful smells! Keep your windows open and fresh flowers out on your surfaces. Having a home that smells nice will keep potential buyers happy.

School’s out: Parents may hesitate to disrupt the kids’ schedules with the selling and buying process during the school year, and may be more likely begin looking and make a purchase during the summer months to have a fresh start in September.
